Our story goes back to 1944 when Mr. Cecil F. Webb was working with Imperial Optical in Toronto and took an interest in artificial eye fitting and fabricating. Mr. Webb operated multiple locations across Ontario and was involved in developing techniques and practices for the fitting and fabrication of artificial eyes, which are still used today.
Jonathan Brett became involved with the Toronto office of Webb Ocular Prosthetics in 1991, where he undertook three years of training with Michael Webb. He then transferred to the London office and completed his training under the direction of Cecil Webb. Jonathan became a Board Certified Ocularist in 1998. He subsequently purchased the London location, now named Brett Ocular Prosthetics Inc.
Years later, Jonathan’s son, Jonathan H. Brett, also trained for 3 years under Michael Webb before completing his training in London. Jonathan Sr. sold the practice to Jonathan H. in March 2020 and retired. Jonathan H. Brett is now the head ocularist and operates clinics in London, Windsor, and Winnipeg.
